Here is the problem when you swap out OEM lamps in a Sidel Matrix: the temperature curve usually shifts. If that infrared output isn’t spot on, your preforms heat up unevenly. That’s how you end up with weird wall thickness and bottles that just fail. It’s a headache nobody needs. We built our replacement lamps specifically to kill that problem. Matching the electricals We didn’t just make these fit the slot. We matched the voltage-to-wattage ratio exactly. Since the resistance and wattage are the same as the SBO 10 originals, the current draw doesn’t budge. You don’t have to mess with your power controllers or stress about overloading a circuit. You just pop them in. It’s that simple. The quartz and the “secret sauce” To get that heat curve right, you have to look at the quartz grade and the halogen filling. We use high-purity fused quartz. Why? Because it lets the shortwave IR radiation hit the PET preform at just the right depth. We also tuned the halogen cycle so the tungsten doesn’t evaporate and cloud up the tube. That keeps the heat steady for thousands of hours. And the connectors? They’re the exact geometry Sidel uses. No adapters. No sketchy rigging. You wire it up and it just works. A quick heads-up on maintenance These lamps are intense. They push a lot of energy into a tiny space to keep your cycle times fast. But there’s a catch. You’ve got to keep your reflectors polished. If they get dirty, that heat bounces back into the lamp housing instead of hitting the preform. That’s a fast track to a premature burnout. Keep the optics clean, and your quartz will last.
