Here is the problem when you swap out OEM lamps in a Sidel Matrix: the temperature curve loves to shift. If the wattage or the light spectrum is even a tiny bit off, you’re in trouble. Your PET preforms will either come out under-heated or, worse, scorched. That’s why we build our replacement lamps to match the original specs exactly. No guessing. No “close enough.” The electrical side of things We make sure our lamps hit the same voltage and wattage as the Sidel originals. This isn’t just about getting the heat right—it’s about protecting your gear. If you throw in a lamp with the wrong impedance, you’re asking for tripped breakers or fried contactors. We keep the resistance where it needs to be so you can just plug them in. You won’t have to mess around with your electrical cabinet or rewrite your wiring. The science of the glow The Sidel Matrix needs a very specific kind of short-wave infrared radiation to actually get through the PET wall. To do that, we use high-purity quartz and a precise halogen mix. It mirrors the original spectrum, so the heat sinks into the preform consistently from the outside in. We also stick to standard R7s or Sk15 connectors. Why? Because a loose fit is a disaster. A tiny gap creates a hot spot that can literally melt your socket. We make sure the fit is tight. How it works in the real world These are true drop-in replacements. You get the same heat density you had before, which means you don’t have to touch your oven timing or slow down your conveyors. It just works. One quick tip, though. Running these lamps at full blast puts a lot of pressure on your oven’s cooling fans. If your blow-off system is choked with dust, the heat will build up and kill your lamps early, no matter how good the quartz is. Do yourself a favor: clean your filters and check your fans whenever you change your lamps. Your equipment will thank you.
