Keeping the Water Out (and the Heat Moving)
When you see “IP65,” just think of it as a raincoat for your heater. It’s dust-tight and can handle a direct jet of water without breaking a sweat. We wrap the whole heating element in a moisture-proof chassis so steam never even touches the electrical terminals. But here is a pro tip for when you’re installing these:give them some breathing room. Because the seal is so tight at keeping water out, it also keeps heat in. If you cram the housing into a tight spot without any airflow, you’ll trip the thermal cutoff or fry your wiring over time. Just leave a little gap and you’re golden.
